Hemmed mid-calf length pants are acceptable (Capri). Skirts, dresses, shorts and culottes may be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee. Clinging or thin fabrics are not allowed. Clothing that exposes cleavage and undergarments is not acceptable. Short tops, with arms raised, which expose any part of the stomach or back side are not permissible; this includes hip-hugger jeans/pants that display exposed, uncovered skin when the student is sitting down. Tank tops and sleeveless dresses are permitted as long as the strap is 3 inches wide and does not display the straps of an undergarment. Pants and jeans must be of appropriate size and not too tight for modesty. Ripped, torn, frayed, and or unclean clothing is not acceptable (no holes allowed). Jeans that are bought faded (stone washed) are acceptable. No words are allowed across the rear of pants. All appropriate undergarments are expected to be worn as a part of the girls’ attire. Leggings and yoga/running pants are considered as “skin” and not “clothing”. Therefore, if a student is wearing leggings and shorts, the shorts still must be of an appropriate length. Girls should wear their hair styles in a clean, neat and attractive manner. Avoid extreme or questionable hair styles. Jewelry and make-up can be worn in moderation as long as it represents a modest appearance and is not worn to bring attention to one’s self. Girls are allowed to wear up to two earrings in each of their ears, necklaces around their necks and rings. Jewelry in moderation is acceptable. Shoes or sandals must be worn at all times. BOYS Boys should be neatly dressed at school. They may wear jeans, shorts (not more than two inches above the knee, or pants of appropriate size, not too baggy (especially if they reveal undergarments) or too tight. Ripped, torn, frayed, excessively worn (no holes) and/or dirty clothing is not acceptable. Jeans that are bought faded (stone washed) are acceptable. Appropriate undergarments are expected to be worn as a part of the boys’ attire. Polo shirts or collared shirts are preferred. Tank tops and sleeveless shirts are not acceptable. T-shirts intended for outer garment wear depicting pictures, logos or slogans are allowed as long as they do not promote anti-Christian values. Hair should be clean and combed (not in the eyes, etc.) Avoid questionable hair styles. No dyeing of hair with unnatural colors (i.e. blue, green, orange, red, fluorescent, or gothic, etc.) Avoid questionable jewelry (no wallet chains, earrings, body piercing, dog collars, etc.) Shoes or sandals must be worn at all times.
